The establishment, which held its grand opening on Wednesday, June 12, was started by Jason Lee, former partner at Kenta in Melville and Philippe Chow restaurant group in New York City, according to Newsday.

Serving a series of authentic duck dishes, guests have several savory options and can also select their choice of noodle (Singapore-style rice vermicelli, egg or flat).

Whatever option you choose, you can be sure it’s sourced and prepared with the utmost care:

“Peking Duck and Dumplings are something that we have professionally worked with for over 2 decades…Each item has been meticulously picked from our different establishments to create a fully specialized menu, while staying true to both contemporary and Chinese traditions,” reads the restaurant’s website. And this seems to be true, judging from guests’ positive feedback since opening day. Long Island Pekin has already earned a 4.5/5-star rating on Yelp and a perfect 5/5 on Facebook.

“The food was simply exquisite. They had such delicious and authentic Chinese food. The duck was well cooked and brought out in a timely manner. The waitresses and staff were all friendly and nice. The manager was very open and welcoming. If you're ever in the area and you love Peking Duck, Long Island Pekin is a definite must go!” wrote Kody H. in a June 23 Yelp review.

Long Island Pekin is open for lunch and dinner throughout the week. For more information, visit the website, and follow LIP on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for the latest updates.
